 Titel: Bladzijde zestienHij heeft vannacht van haar gedroomd. Ze waren op een groot feest. Zij flirtte met voorname personen. Hij stond er langszij naar te kijken terwijl een dame hem de onnozeliteiten uit haar leven vertelde. Nadien zijn ze weggegaan. Ze stuurde roekeloos de wagen naar een ondergrondse parking tot min vier. Op het tiende verdiep was een restaurant. Het duurde lang eer ze er geraakten want de lift bengelde voortdurend. Meermaals moesten ze uitstappen om onvolkomenheden te verhelpen. Zij was een gekende klant daarboven. Hij bestelde een meergangenmenu. De hoofdschotel was mossel-friet. Ze dronken witte wijn. De bediening liet lang op zich wachten. Ze was wispelturig en nonchalant. Is ze weeral niet content, fluisterde de ober onopvallend in zijn linker oor. Hij voelde zich een klein beetje ambetant door haar gedrag en tegelijkertijd genoot hij ervan. Hij betaalde de rekening en dan gingen ze voort. Ze sliepen in het leegstaand grootmoederhuis helemaal boven. Toen hij ‘s nachts beneden ging plassen zat zijn grootmoeder in de keuken en schreeuwde ze bekijvend: "Hoe is dit toch mogelijk. Maak dat je wegkomt!". Dan liepen ze over het trottoir. Er liepen mensen op straat. Ze had haar lichaam om het zijne geklemd. Ook al was dat een heerlijk gevoel, hij voelde zich gegeneerd voor de voorbijgangers op de stoep. ...in het straatbeeld hoor ik muziek. Voorbijgangers kijken niet eens naar de accordeonist die een muziekstuk speelt. Zigeunermuziek. Kinderen, dronkaards en clochards gooien iets in zijn kartonnen bakje. Muzikant op straat. Dan zie ik iemand op hoge hakken vooraan. Op de kasseiweg heeft ze het moeilijk. Haar benen gaan alle richtingen uit. Haar lichaam is gevangen in een soort latex-keurslijf. Dat kan toch niet comfortabel zijn. In de zomer stoken zigeuners vuurtjes waarop ze hun eten klaar maken. De kinderen spelen in open lucht, net zoals ik dat deed. Ze gaan pissen en kakken tussen de struiken. Ze poetsen hun tanden buiten in de dauw met een emmer water, ieder om beurt. Ik heb het gezien. Ze leven zoals wij, maar dan op een andere manier In dit straatbeeld zie ik ook een grijsaard met een hond, een halfblinde met een vooruit gestoken witte stok en roekeloze jongelingen. |
